Food Premises
"Food Premises" means a premises where food or milk is manufactured, processed, prepared, stored, handled, displayed, distributed, transported, sold or offered for sale, but does not include a room actually used as a dwelling in a private residence . The operation and maintenance of a food premises is governed by Ontario Regulation 493/17 under the Health Protection and Promotion Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.H.7.
Personal Service Settings
"Personal Service Settings" means a premises at which personal services are offered where there is a risk of exposure to blood or body fluids and includes premises at which hairdressing and barbering, tattooing, body piercing, nail services, tanning, electrolysis and other aesthetic services are offered. The operation and maintenance of a personal service setting is governed by Ontario Regulation 136/18 under the Health Protection and Promotion Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.H.7.
Public Pools and Spas
The operation and maintenance of public pools and spas (aka hot tubs) is governed by Ontario Regulation 565/90 under the Health Protection and Promotion Act, R.S.O. 1990. c.H.7. To ensure compliance with this mandatory Regulation, Public Health Inspectors carry out routine inspections of all public pools and spas. Private pools and spas are not inspected by APH.
